The stories in this issue of Bust Out criss cross the edge of fiction/non fiction. This is a first for us, having been a “source of pure fiction” since we started back in 1995. Exploring the theme: Edges, we wrote, met in cafes for discussion and coffee, then rewrote and polished our work. Once, at the Book Beat Café in Fairfax, Carolyn brought her laptop and Mark joined us via I chat from Paris, crossing the cyber edge. A delightfully surreal afternoon.

Edges are interesting to contemplate: the edge of time, the edge of continents, cutting edge, edge of your seat, edge of truth, and naturally, the edge of genre. Hovering in the range of 600 words, these fiction and non fiction pieces push boundaries, get edgy, and even find humor on the edge. They join the flow of human stories that come and go, and become in their own unique ways, yet “another way to say it”!

Welcome to the world of Bust Out Stories.
