Thirty Years Along 116

They browsed the bookstore window, smiling at the old friends there. Where The Red Fern Grows. Wind in The Willows. Charlotte’s Web.

Linda tucked her hand into Zofia’s, admiring her daughter’s round pregnant belly reflected in the wavy glass of the old window and remembering a tiny girl with a long bouncing pony tail. “We’ve been checking out this window since before you could walk.”

“We’d start at Pease Pharmacy to visit the past,” Zofia smiled. “Then to Howard’s to look at the dollhouse furniture; to Copperfield’s to buy a book and smell Under The Lilacs; and finally to the Cookie Company for a Cinnamon Flat and hot chocolate.”

She patted her belly. “Your turn next..”
